NO: Good Car: The All New HONDA CR-V 2007

This is a bit of an advertisement script on the car of my choice, the all new HONDA CR-V 2007.

The 3rd Generation of HONDA SUV has finally reached our shore on 8th March, 2007. CR-V has been so successful in our local market since its first introduction to Malaysia in 1996. On the launching day, I rushed to the showroom trying to be the few first to witness its new look.

“WOW” my first impression is good. For the past 2 generation, the only set back from my opinion was its conservative outlook but now no more. What most impressed me of this new model is its new aerodynamics design. According the HONDA, they claimed to be the best among all SUVs in the current market. Wider wheel arches, gently sloping lines and bold chrome grill create harmony in apparent contradictions. a lower centre of gravity. The interior design is trendy, having the gear shift integrated centre panel, luxurious feel, 20 storage areas and great looking dashboard.

Also, despite of its undisputable performance and reliability, CR-V was always lacked in accessories. Not anymore. New model equipped with loads of standard accessories and features which one could think of such as the automatically lit up instrument panel, the multi-functioning tilt telescopic steering wheel with Electric Powered Steering (EPS), Vehicle Information Display (VID), integrated audio system with 6 CD changer, dual zone Air-conditioning, steering wheel audio and cruise control, multi-functioning adjustable rear seats and many more. They also claimed to have greater use of sound insulation and sound absorption material to create a more quiet environment cabin which is also a welcome (I personally agreed that HONDA’s sound insulation is always lacking behind.).

For the power plant, a newly design 2.0 iVTEC engine is in place, giving out 150ps (110kw) @ 6,200 rpm of maximum power output and 190Nm @ 4,200rpm of maximum Torque. Just the same with previous model but improved, a Real-time 4WD system is incorporated.

For the safety, 2 front Airbags, diagonal dual circuit braking system, ABS, active headrest and G-CON body are included as current standard in Malaysia market.

All the above feature and specification comes together with a price tag of RM147,800.00 which is slightly increased from the previous model but I think is worth every penny you spend. For more detail, readers could visit their website at Honda Malaysia.
