NO: Good F1: Good start Kimi!

Bravo! Bravo! After such a long time, Kimi Raikkonen finally got his P1 pole position in the qualifying round of Australian Grand Prix just now! This time, he is in red instead of silver. Though I would prefer his smart look in silver, but the Silver Arrow did really dispoint him for the whole last season..... Yeah, I'm referring to Formula One car racing.

If anyone of you do follow years after years of F1, you should know what I'm talking about. No doubt, Kimi is my favourite in this game. I've been noticing him since his first F1 race with Sauber Petronas. His talent was soon noticed by Mclarens (Silver Arrow) boss, Ron Dennis, bak in the year 2002 when he was still a rookie, he managed to stand at the podium once. After the season, he joined Mclarens and the next season, he was fighting Michael Schumacher for the Driver Championship! But unfortunately, the bad luck started to happen on him as well. In Year 2005, though he was the fastest driver among the the total 20, he was also driving one of the most unreliable car among them. Though he won 7 races out of the total 19, he also retired in 3 races with the race car probem! That costed him the Driver Championship of that year. That situation did not improve at all in last season where he won nothing with 3 P1 pole position but 6 retirements!!! None of the retirement was caused by his own fault and that was why he chose to leave Mclarens. As a F1 top driver for four years, one should expect a driver champion for at least one year but unfortunately, Kimi's race car couldn'y cope up with his talent.

Finally, he joined the red team, Ferrari, being the 'replacement' for the F1 greatest driver, Michael Schumacher last year. This year, he joined Felipe Massa as a team for Ferrari in this new season which started the qualifying round of the first GP of the season today. I seatted tight to witness his Ferrari debut and he didn't disappoint me, in a session run under warm sun and on a bone-dry track, Raikkonen set the pace in first qualifying, was content to let Alonso do so in the second, and then banged in the 1m 26.072s lap that secured him the pole in the third and final runs. He thus became the first debutant Ferrari driver to take pole position since Juan Manuel Fangio back in 1956.

“Today we spent time getting a good set-up on car,” Raikkonen said. “For one lap it was still not ideal, not for me at least, but the main thing is it was quick enough. We have a good race package, so I am more confident for the race than for qualifying. This can be quite a funny race, but we’ll do our best and hope to win.” - commented Kimi.

Bravo! We will see the all new Kimi Raikkonnen in Albers Park, Australia, tomorrow...
